IMD warns of heavy rain with thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR amid severe cold

New Delhi : Cold continues to wreak havoc across North India including Delhi. Meanwhile, weather patterns changed in Delhi-NCR this morning. Light rain occurred in parts of Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department had already predicted light rain in Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana. Now the temperature will fall more than before and the cold will also rise more than before.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms in North India from January 3 to 5. The IMD said that from January 3 to 5, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, North Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh and North-West Madhya Pradesh will receive thunderstorms or hail.

The reason for this is the effects of the Western Disturbance and the low level Easter from the Bay of Bengal.

A new western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region and the surrounding plains from 3 January. A similar foggy weather has been predicted for 7 January.Temperature fell to 1.1 degree Celsius yesterday in some places in Delhi. Which was the lowest temperature so far this season.
