New Delhi : The World Health Organization (WHO) has praised and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Coronavirus vaccine. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Thursday that your commitment to sharing doses of Covax and Covid-19 vaccines is helping more than 60 countries begin vaccinating their health workers and primary groups.
The WHO chief further said that it is expected that the rest of the countries will also follow your example.

India has so far provided 361.91 lakh doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine under grant-in-aid and commercial supplies to various countries of the world, showing solidarity in the war against the coronavirus. External Affairs Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava told the media on Thursday that 67.5 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been made available to various countries as subsidy while 294.44 lakh doses have been made available under the commercial supply.
There are currently two vaccines in India, which have already received approval for emergency use. Immunization drive is also going on in India after the government approved emergency use. The two vaccines which the government has approved include an indigenous vaccine covaxin. This vaccine has been developed by Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
While the second vaccine is Covishield. Covishield has been developed by Oxford University-AstraZeneca and the Serum Institute is producing it in India. Along with the production of these two vaccines in India, they are also being sent abroad. There are dozens of countries taking vaccines from India and vaccinating their citizens.
