Gorakhpur: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Khichdi fair has started in the world famous Gorakhnath temple located in Gorakhpur. This fair will last for about a month. In view of Makar Sankranti, all the arrangements for barricading and security have been completed. There has been no decrease in the devotion of people even in the midst of global corona crisis. In view of Makar Sankranti, special consideration has also been given to Covid-19 protocol. Apart from this, along with checking every incoming people, they are being instructed to take special care of social distance.

Khajala sweets are considered the pride of this fair. The shopkeepers outside the temple say that people who come here like Khajala sweets very much. Shopkeeper Vijay has five types of sweets. Which is priced at 50 rupees to 120 rupees.

The tradition of offering khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath has been going on for centuries. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself does pooja at Gorakhnath temple and offers prasad of khichdi. After that, the door is opened to the common devotees.
