Muzaffarnagar : Several vehicles collided on national highway due to fog, half a dozen injured

New Delhi : Several vehicles clashed in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh late Tuesday night due to construction work and fog on the National Highway. Nearly half a dozen people were injured in the accident. Police reached the spot on the information and immediately rushed the injured to the hospital. Vehicles damaged in the accident are being removed by cranes.

According to the information, due to underpass construction on the National Highway in Ratanpuri police station area, traffic has been made one way. Eight to ten vehicles clashed here on Tuesday night due to fog. More than half a dozen people were injured in the accident. Police reached the spot and admitted the injured to the hospital. The work of removing the damaged vehicles continued till morning.

Underpass is being constructed at five places in the district. Highway traffic has been made one-way at these places but indicators and reflectors have not been installed. In such a situation, due to ongoing construction works, cold and fog, the possibility of accidents has increased.
