New Delhi : Tejas Express train, the country’s first corporate train, is closed from Monday. Due to shortage of passengers in the train, it has been closed till further orders. According to IRCTC Chief Regional Manager Ashwini Srivastava, there is very less passenger traffic due to the infection, due to which the operation of the Tejas train is currently being stopped from the 23rd. It will be decided a few days later when to start it again.

Tejas, the country’s first corporate train, runs between Lucknow to Delhi. It is run by IRCTC. This train has been made completely VIP. Tejas’s success was greatly increased by earning profits in the first month itself. Meanwhile, the operation of Mahakal Express between Varanasi and Indore was given to IRCTC.

Tejas trains are not getting passengers
A decrease in the number of passengers is being told the reason behind the closure of the Tejas Express train. In the Corona transition, very few passengers made a booking to travel in the VIP train Tejas Express, due to which the Railways are not earning any special income from operating this train.

In view of the low number of passengers, IRCTC wrote a letter to cancel this train. After this, the Railway Board decided to cancel all services of Tejas Train from November 23 until further orders. In October 2019, the country’s first private train Tejas Express was started.

IRCTC started the operation of Lucknow-Delhi-Lucknow Tejas Express in October, 2019. After this, Tejas Express was running between Ahmedabad-Mumbai in January this year. Railway operated the Tejas train on the first day of Navratri on 17 October 2020. After the Corona epidemic, Tejas Express was closed for nearly seven months from March 19, due to the lockdown.
