Mathura :

A controversy has erupted over the incident of Muslim youths offering prayers at the Nand Baba temple in Mathura. As soon as the pictures of the incident went viral, BJP government ministers Shrikant Sharma and Mohsin Raza termed it as a conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere. On the other hand, the accused youths explained that they did so as it was time to offer Namaz.

The incident took place at Nand Mahal Nand Bhavan temple in Barsana’s Nandgaon. Regarding the pictures of Namaz being offered at the temple, temple minister Kanha Goswami said, “On October 9, three youths came to the Nandgaon temple, one of whom had a cap (taqiyah) on his head.” We too were amazed to see a young man wearing a cap in the temple.

Coming to the temple wearing a cap, Faizal said to the priest: ‘Is Krishna yours? Krishna is for all of us. And Faizal also recited some chaupai of Ramayana to Pujari Kanha and those present there. In this regard, the Delhi resident youths said that they have come by bicycle to travel to Braj Chaurasi Kos. After the darshan, the priest of the temple offered prasad and after that the four youths continued to walk around the temple premises.

A young man who reached Nand Bhavan identified himself as Faisal Khan, a resident of Delhi. He told everyone that he also has a lot of respect for Lord Krishna like the famous poet and he is traveling to Braj Chaurasi Kos with him. He is also visiting all the holy places during the pilgrimage. “We went to the temple for darshan,” he said. That’s when the time for Namaz came. So we prayed there.’

Pictures of these youths offering Namaz in Lord Krishna temple in Mathura are going viral on social media. Anger is being seen among the Hindu leader and other people. However, the people of Komi Ekta Manch have called this an example of brotherhood.

According to police, based on the temple complaint, the local police have registered a case against accused Faisal Khan, his Muslim friend and two Hindu associates on charges of insulting religious faith, spreading animosity among religious sects, instilling fear in the society and insulting the place of worship.
