Mumbai : Although the lockdown imposed to defeat the corona has reduced the level of pollution, it has increased once again after the unlock. According to the Lancet Health Journal, in 2017, more than 17 lakh people died due to pollution across the country.

The death toll among 17 lakh people across the country is 17.8 per cent. Pollution across the country includes indoor and outdoor pollution, as well as ozone pollution. This type of pollution has also been steadily increasing in the last few years. Open space pollution is on the rise. 9 lakh people have died due to pollution. 6 lakh people have died due to pollution in confined spaces. However, from 1990 to 2019, the number of deaths due to indoor pollution has decreased by 64.2 per cent, while the number of deaths due to outdoor pollution has increased by 115.3 per cent.

In terms of ozone pollution, it has risen to 139.2 percent. In short, pollution in confined spaces is lower, pollution in roads, public spaces is similar, and many more deaths are caused by smoking, according to sources. Meanwhile, while the death toll due to pollution is on the rise, it is also adding to the economic losses, resulting in double the economic losses, including human losses.
