J-K DDC election : Ballot heavy on bullet, 8.93 percent voting till 9 am

Srinagar : Voting has started from Saturday morning for the eighth and last phase of the DDC election in Jammu and Kashmir. Polling is being held in Sunderbani and Darhal constituencies in the eighth phase. In the midst of thick fog and bitter cold, people are reaching the centers to cast their votes. Jammu and Kashmir division recorded 8.93 percent polling till 9 am.

Re-voting on 21 seats in Poonch
The two seats in Poonch district, which set the highest voting record in the state in the DDC elections, will be voted again on December 21. In Mendhar-A and Mendhar-B seats, there was a lot of uproar by various political parties and independents on the allegation of fraud. In view of the complaints, the State Election Commission has issued a notification of re-polling in four polling stations on both the seats.

58 polling stations have been set up for 26296 voters in Darhal constituency. Of these, 11 centers have been marked as susceptible and 25 centers sensitive. In the Sunderbani constituency, 75 centers have been set up for 32577 voters. Of these, 11 centers are highly sensitive, while 23 centers are sensitive.
