New Delhi : After Britain, now the US can also approve Pfizer-BioNTech Corona vaccine. A US government advisory panel recommended emergency approval of the Pfizer-BioNTech Corona vaccine. The panel stated that the potential benefit of the vaccine reduces its risks.
After an eight-hour public hearing on Thursday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) vaccine and the associated Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) voted to recommend the vaccine developed by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech.
Paul Offit, a member of VRBPAC and vaccine specialist at Children’s Hospital Philadelphia, said that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has a clear advantage and on the other hand we have theoretical risks on all sides. He said that the potential benefits of the vaccine reduce its risks.
Another member, Ofer Levy, who is a paediatrician and head of the vaccine program at Boston Children’s Hospital, said it was a major milestone. Significantly, Britain and Bahrain have already given permission for emergency use of this Pfizer-BioNotech vaccine.
Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concluded in a detailed analysis that the first Covid-19 vaccine (Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine) is being considered for use in the US, has proved to be successful on the prescribed standards in a clinical study.
