Researchers at Jackson State University, Cornell University and the University of Hawaii are currently analyzing data sent by Mars Curiosity Rover with Mars (NASA). Analysis of this data revealed that there was a terrible flood on Mars 400 million years ago. Evidence of this is found in the Gale Crater of Mars.
Now the question arises, how did such a terrible flood come? After examining the data from Curiosity Rover, the scientists found that the depth of this horrific flood water in Gale crater was about 78 feet. But when the waves arose, they were devastating. Every second a 32 feet high wave was rising. If such a high wave arises in some place, that too every second, then the devastation caused by it can be horrific.
Researcher Alberto G. Fayren, who conducted this study, said that 400 million years ago there were parts of life on Mars. Their nature must have been very subtle. That is, microbial organisms must live here. At the time of flood here, some waves were 30 feet high. The water wave spread was up to 450 feet.
Due to these waves, there are marks on the surface of Mars. These marks are of waves. After studying them, it was found where and how much quantity of water must have come in the Gale crater. Scientists also came to know how long this water must have been staying here. Because traces of big waves are also found in the rocks and soil of the Gayle crater. Scientists are calling it megaripples or antidunes.
The basis of the study that scientists have done about this flood is the marks found on the stones, pits, sediments and soil located in the Gayle crater of Mars. Size of stones, inclination etc. Humans have now learned about this flood when they examined the data of Curiosity Rover. Whereas, orbiters moving around Mars cannot give this information.
Alberto said that when the flood was over, the water would evaporate due to heat. The moisture content in Mars’ atmosphere would have increased. Even if it is for a short time, it could have happened. By taking advantage of this time, micro-organisms must surely be born.
