Firecrackers won’t be burst on Diwali only if sacrifices won’t be done on Bakrid : Sakshi Maharaj

Lucknow : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Unnao MP Sakshi Maharaj from Uttar Pradesh is once again in the spotlight over his controversial statement. Discussions of banning firecrackers on Diwali are going on and now MP Sakshi Maharaj said that Diwali will be celebrated without firecrackers only if the Bakrid will be celebrated without goats. BJP leader Sakshi Maharaj said, if there will be Bakrid without goat sacrifice, Diwali will be without firecrackers. In view of increasing air pollution, some states including Rajasthan and Maharashtra have banned firecrackers on Diwali. Sakshi Maharaj has made this claim on Facebook.

Sakshi Maharaj is counted among the firebrand leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He is often in the headlines for his statements. Recently, during the election campaign in Bangaramau, Sakshi Maharaj had made a controversial statement about Muslims. He had said, why big cremation grounds for Muslims and small ones for Hindus? Why this discrimination?

He had said, the cremation ground should be big or small, according to the population ratio. Sakshi Maharaj had also said while giving the alleged warning, “We can do anything.”

Sakshi Maharaj is in home isolation in Delhi these days. On social media, MP Sakshi Maharaj had informed that he tested corona positive. He had appealed to the people that all those who have come in contact with him should take the Covid-19 test as soon as possible.

He had said that his health was deteriorating since the three-day tour of Bangaramau by-election. After which he had a corona test, in which he was found infected.
