Share Market Today : Sensex up 499 points, Nifty above 12000

Mumbai : Today, on the fourth trading day of the week i.e. Thursday, the stock market opened with an increase. Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex opened at 41115.65, up 499.51 points (1.23 per cent). At the same time, the National Stock Exchange Nifty started with a gain of 143.80 points (1.21 per cent) at 12052.30.

Shopping in worldwide markets
On Wednesday, shopping was seen in markets across the world. The US market Dow Jones gained 1.34 percent to close at 27,847.70, up 367.63 points. The Nasdaq index also gained 4.41 percent to close at 117.777.00, up 497.11 points. The S&P 500 index was up 74.28 points at 3,443.44, up 2.20 percent. Today, Japan’s Nikkei index is trading up 332.27 points in Asian markets. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is also trading with a gain of 641.81 points. In addition, the Shanghai Composite Index of China is also trading with a gain of 0.88 per cent.

According to analysts, further market volatility will continue. Hence investors should be cautious. In the US, the domestic market strengthened in the positive trend before the results of the presidential election in most of the markets. President Donald Trump on Wednesday claimed amidst the counting of votes in several states that ‘big fraud’ was being done to the American public and that he would go to the Supreme Court against it. This claim was followed by a decline in initial trade in European markets.

Talking about the big stocks, today all the shares, except Hero MotoCorp, started at a fast pace. The top gainers include SBI, HCL Tech, Hindalco, IndusInd Bank and Reliance.

Monitoring of the sectoral index
If we look at the sectoral index, then all the sectors opened on the green mark today. These include banks, finance services, private banks, realty, metals, PSU banks, media, FMCG, pharma, IT, auto and private banks.

During the pre-open at 9.02 am, the Sensex was up 253.89 points, or 0.63 per cent, at 40870.03. At the same time, the Nifty was up 147.10 points, or 1.24 per cent, at 12055.60.

The market had closed on the green mark on the previous trading day
The BSE Sensex rose 355.01 points to 40,616.14 and the NSE Nifty rose 95 points to close at 11,908.50 on the previous trading day. IndusInd Bank was the biggest gainer during the boom with a five per cent increase, followed by Sun Pharma, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Kotak Bank and Tech Mahindra.

Market was open on Wednesday on the rise
The Sensex had climbed over 180 points in early trade on Wednesday. The 30-share Sensex was trading up 183.86 points or 0.46 per cent to trade at 40,444.99. Similarly, the 50-share NSE Nifty was up 49.50 points or 0.42 per cent at 11,863.00.
