Former Gujarat CM Keshubhai Patel Passes Away

Gandhinagar : Former state chief minister and veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel has passed away. Notably, he also recently tested positive for corona and he had recovered. However, he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a hospital. But he died during treatment.

Notably, Keshubhai Patel was recently shifted to Stirling Hospital in the city for treatment after suffering from coronary heart disease and lung and heart problems.

However, he was discharged as his health improved over the last two days. But today, he has passed away due to sudden deterioration in his health. After Keshubhai’s death, his son Bharat Patel said that his health was deteriorating after he got Corona. Having trouble in breathing in the morning, he was taken to hospital.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has expressed grief over the sad demise of former Chief Minister and senior leader Keshubhai Patel and paid tributes. The Chief Minister described the late Keshubhai Patel as a dedicated leader of Gujarat. Chief Minister Rupani further said that we have all suffered a great loss due to the demise of Keshubhai and this loss will always be with us.

Former Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel’s demise was mourned by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia, Randeep Surjewal, MP Parimal Nathwani, Shaktisinh Gohil, MLA Lalit Kagathara, Congress star campaigner Hardik Patel and many others.

Who was Keshubhai Patel?
Keshubhai Patel was born on July 24, 1928. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat twice, from March 1995 to October 1995 and from March 1998 to October 2001. On October 2, 2001, he resigned from the post of Chief Minister due to ill health. He was elected unopposed as a member of Rajya Sabha in 2002 and on 4 August 2012 he formed a new political party called Gujarat Parivartan Party for the Gujarat Assembly elections and resigned from the BJP.
