New Delhi : America, India and Brazil remain on the top of the list in most affected countries by Corona. Across the world, around 3 crore 35 lakh 49 thousand 873 people have been infected so far due to the corona epidemic and 10 lakh 6 thousand 379 people have died. So far more than 97 thousand people have lost their lives in India from Covid-19 Cases in India. Most of those who died are men. Meanwhile, in a new study, shocking information has been given about more deaths of men due to coronavirus. According to the study, Corona is attacking the main sex hormone testosterone of men. Due to this, men’s health is deteriorating and after getting infected, the body is becoming weak. Death toll is high in such a situation.

Researchers from Mersin University and Mersin City Education and Research Hospital in Turkey have given information about this in a men’s magazine called ‘The Aging’. The study noted, ‘For the first time, our data suggest that serum testosterone levels may be impaired in male patients infected with COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2. Low serum reduces total testosterone levels so the patient’s body becomes unable to fight the virus. He needs an ICU directly. The death toll of such patients is high.’

Testosterone is the main sex hormone found in the body of men, which is produced in the testicles. It is believed to be responsible for increasing sex drive in men. If there is a lack of testosterone level in men, then the problems like excessive fatigue, hair fall, reduction in libido, mood swings and muscle loss occurs. This hormone is also related to the sexual development of men.

Testosterone decreases by 0.8-2% every year
The study says that testosterone decreases by 0.8-2% every year after 40 years in men. In such a situation, the health of elderly male patients found corona positive worsens. Their recovery rate is low.

Sample taken of 438 patients
In a study published earlier this month, 438 patients were sampled. 232 of them were men. “In this population, recovery in testosterone-related SARS-CoV-2 infected hypogonadal male patients was very slow or negligible,” the study noted.

In the US, 60% of the 5,700 patients of COVID-19 were men, while the rest were women. At the same time, 66.5% of the corona patients in ICU were male. Since then, Italy, France, UK, Germany and South Korea also showed a similar pattern. According to data released recently by the UK, the deaths due to corona in men are almost double that of women. The data of Australia’s Department of Health also tells the same.
