Monsoon Session Of Parliament May Be Adjourned Indefinitely From Today

New Delhi : The monsoon session of Parliament can end eight days ahead of time due to the havoc of Corona and many MPs being infected with this deadly virus. News agency PTI has given this news quoting sources. The session was started with all the precautions related to Coronavirus. But in the necessary corona test conducted before that, about 30 MPs were found infected with the coronavirus. Sources said that the proceedings of Rajya Sabha can be postponed indefinitely after taking five Bills on Wednesday.

After taking up five bills on Wednesday, Sources said on Tuesday that the Rajya Sabha proceedings could be adjourned indefinitely. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the Lower House will convene at 6 pm on Wednesday instead of 3 pm. Sources said that the lower house session will also be adjourned indefinitely after taking up some issues including zero time. According to sources, several bills have been passed in both the houses in the session which started on September 14, including bills introduced to replace some recently enacted ordinances.

The decision to adjourn the session indefinitely has been brought to the notice of the leaders of all parties in the lower house, sources said. The monsoon season was scheduled to continue till October 1. Significantly, in the last few days, several MPs, including some ministers, have been found infected with the coronavirus.

Three important bills related to agriculture were passed in this session. Eight opposition MPs were suspended from the House. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were disrupted for the first time due to opposition of bills in the Rajya Sabha. The proceedings of the House started at 4 pm instead of 3 pm on Monday and lasted till 12.30 am late at night while the scheduled time for the proceedings was till 7 pm. The discussion on the Corona epidemic took place late at night till around twelve o’clock.
