Indian Warship Undertakes Refueling With US Navy Fleet Tanker in Northern Arabian Sea

New Delhi : India is engaged in increasing friendship with other countries amid the ongoing border dispute between India and China on LAC. Some time ago, the fighter aircraft Rafael entered the Indian Air Force. After the Air Force, continuous efforts are being made to increase the strength of the Navy. On Monday, Indian warship INS Talwar refueled in the North Arabian Sea using the provisions of a defense agreement with US Navy tanker USNS Yukon.

Giving detailed information about this, an Indian Navy spokesperson tweeted, “INS Talwar on Mission Based Deployment in Northern Arabian Sea undertook refueling with US Navy Fleet Tanker USNS Yukon under LEMOA (1/2)” This move of both the armies enables the presence of increasing maritime security.

What is a Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement?
India and the United States signed the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) to strengthen the armies of both countries in the sea region. This agreement was signed in 2016. Under this, the Indian and US forces can use each other’s military airports and seaports. After this agreement, the defense cooperation of both countries has been greatly strengthened. India has signed similar agreements with France, Singapore, Australia and Japan.
