Dr. Sheetal Amte, Baba Amte’s grand daughter commits suicide at Anandvan

Chandrapur : Dr. Sheetal Amte, CEO of leprosy service committee at Anandvan, has committed suicide. She was rushed to Warora Sub-District Hospital where she was pronounced dead on the scene. A medical official said that she had injected herself with poison. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sheetal Amte had shared a painting this morning at 6 p.m. The painting is titled ‘War and Peace’.

Dr. Sheetal Amte ended her life by injecting poison at her residence in Anandvan. She was rushed to Warora Sub-District Hospital where she was pronounced dead at the scene. The reason for Dr. Sheetal Amte’s suicide is not yet understood. She is said to have committed suicide as she could not bear the disputes of family and the leprosy service committee.

A few days ago, Dr. Sheetal Amte shared a video on social media and made a fuss over the allegations made against the activists and trustees of the Leprosy Services Committee. But due to pressure, she deleted the video in an hour or two. However, after this, Dr. Vikas Amte, Prakash Amte, Manda Amte and Bharti Amte withdrew their letters and refuted their allegations. It was said that her mental health was not very good and she was undergoing treatment.

Dr. Sheetal Amte was the granddaughter of the late Baba Amte, a senior social worker. Sheetal Amte was currently in charge of Anandvan. She was leading the third generation of Baba Amte. The Amte family had personal disputes for the past few months. This argument often came to the fore.

Preliminary information has revealed that she took an injection of poison. She was rushed to a sub-district hospital in Warora but was pronounced dead at the scene.
