Notice to Kangana Ranaut from Mumbai police, orders to appear with sister Rangoli on November 10

Mumbai : Mumbai Police has issued a second notice to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday. In this notice, Kangana has been asked to appear with her sister Rangoli Chandel on November 10. An official said that this notice has been issued for questioning in case of making inflammatory statements on social media.

Earlier on 21 October, the Bandra Police issued a notice to actress Kangana and her sister Rangoli to record their statement. However, Ranaut’s lawyer had told the police in response to this notice that Kangana is currently in Himachal Pradesh and she is busy preparing for her cousin’s wedding. She will be unable to present due to this.

The official said that now Bandra Police has sent a second notice to both of them to be present at the police station on November 10 to record the statement in the case. The Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s court last month ordered the police to file a complaint on behalf of Bollywood’s casting director and fitness trainer Munawwar Ali Syed citing Kangana Ranaut and his sister’s tweets and other statements.

The Bandra police later accused Kangana Ranaut and her sister of Section 153-A of the IPC (promoting disharmony among various groups on the basis of religion, caste, etc.), 295-A (intentional acts of hurt of religious sentiments), filed an FIR under 34 (general intent) and 124-A. She was also asked to appear for recording of statements in this case.
