Gandhinagar : Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has tested coronavirus positive. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. On Sunday, Vijay Rupani fell on the stage while giving an election speech in Vadodara. He was given first aid on stage. His condition was said to be fine. However, he was later sent to Ahmedabad and admitted to the UN Mehta Hospital for further treatment.

Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel said “Yesterday the Chief Minister fainted at a public meeting in Vadodara, from there he was brought to the hospital in Ahmedabad for examination. The Chief Minister has tested Corona positive. He is undergoing treatment. He may have to be admitted.”

According to the hospital’s director, Dr. RK Patel, CM Vijay Rupani’s condition is stable, but he will remain under observation for 24 hours. All tests have been done, but it is advised that he should rest. Therefore, we will keep him under observation. However, now after the confirmation of corona infection, the Chief Minister will be treated according to the covid-19 guideline.

BJP leader Bharat Dangar told that the Chief Minister was feeling dizzy while addressing the public meeting. While he was falling, his security guards supported him. Rupani’s health was not well for the last two days, but instead of cancelling his public meetings held in Jamnagar on Saturday and Vadodara on Sunday, he decided to be present there.

On receiving information about this incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with the CM on Sunday and advised him to be careful and relax. Elections to six municipal corporations including Vadodara will be held on February 21, while elections to municipalities, district and taluka panchayats will be held on February 28.
