Surat : 15 labourers sleeping on footpath crushed to death as Dumper driver lost control

A terrible accident occurred on Monday late night in Surat, Gujarat. A dumper on Kim Road crushed 22 people, including a child. According to the latest information, the death toll in this has now increased to 15. Currently 3 people are said to be injured. The injured have been admitted to SMIMER Hospital in Surat.

According to the information received, these people were laborers and were sleeping on the roadside. At the same time, Dumper’s control deteriorated and it crushed the sleeping laborers. The accident took place in Palod village in Surat. All the deceased were laborers sleeping on the sidewalk. During that time, sugarcane tractors and trucks came face to face, the truck driver lost control of the dumper and the truck climbed on the workers sleeping on the footpath.
It has been informed by the police that all the laborers were from Rajasthan. Currently, the dead bodies have been sent for postmortem. The injured are undergoing treatment.
