ED to interrogate Sanjay Raut’s wife today in PMC Bank Scam case

Mumbai : Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has directly challenged the government over the summon of ED to his wife for questioning in the PMC Bank Money Laundering case today at 10.30 am. However, it is not yet clear whether Varsha will appear before the ED or not.

This is the third summon issued to her, before which she has not appeared before the agency twice on health grounds. On getting the ED’s notice to the wife, Sanjay Raut got angry at the press conference and said, “I am a naked man, don’t mess with me.” He said that BJP is using ED to topple the Maharashtra government. At the same time, the Shiv Sainiks, enraged at the ED’s notice, placed a poster of the BJP state office in front of the ED office in Colaba, Mumbai and raised slogans against the Modi government in front of the Shiv Sena building.

What is the matter –
This entire case is related to HDIL. The Wadhwa brothers of HDIL were arrested in the PMC bank scam. The Wadhwa family took crores of rupees from the bank and failed to repay it. Praveen Raut, who is considered close to the Wadhwa brothers, is also one of Sanjay Raut’s close friends.

Nearly 55 lakh rupees were transferred from the account of Praveen Raut’s wife Madhuri Praveen Raut to Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha Raut’s account. The ED wants to know why this money was transferred to Varsha Raut and that is why Varsha Raut has been summoned by the ED.
