New Delhi : The Unique Identification Authority of India or UIDAI had amended the rules related to changing the name, gender and date of birth in the Aadhaar card. After which you can update your name and date of birth and gender in the Aadhaar card. But do you know how many times in life the name can be changed in the Aadhaar card and what are its conditions?
No change is allowed in Aadhaar card again and again
UIDAI has not allowed repeated updation of Aadhaar card. According to the memorandum of the UIDAI’s office, an Aadhaar card holder can update his name on his Aadhaar card only twice in life. As far as the date of birth is concerned, the rules regarding change in it are more stringent. Actually, the date of birth in an Aadhaar card can be updated only once in life. In this, the date of birth recorded at the time of Aadhaar enrollment is allowed to be changed with a maximum range of three years (plus or minus). At the same time, gender can also be changed once in the Aadhaar card.
Terms for renaming Aadhaar
In the Aadhaar card, you can update your name only on this condition if the change is just a little bit. Like,
– Correction in spelling
– If you want to change the sequence
– Full form with short form
– If you want to change the name after marriage.
It is important to note that you need to submit verified documents to change the name, date of birth and address in the Aadhaar card. Updating the name, gender or date of birth in the Aadhaar card more than the fixed number is possible only through an exception handling process. At the same time, there is no need for any type of documents to update the mobile number or email. But OTP is required before updating the mobile number or email in Aadhaar.
