After big decision of PM Modi government, Customers will now get these 10 rights

New Delhi : The government has taken a big decision to empower power consumers. Under this, arrangements have been made to provide 24-hour electricity to consumers and to provide services on time. The rate of electricity has been taken into account on many things. The availability of 24-hour power etc. has been included in the rights of consumers. Violation of these rules may result in action against the power distribution companies. This rule will benefit 300 million electricity customers.

Now customers will get these rights –
– According to the information given by the Ministry of Power, it also includes areas like taking new connections, installing meters, paying bills. There will now be an online facility to take all kinds of electricity connections.

– Customers will have to be provided with electricity connections within seven days in metros, within 15 days in municipalities and in rural areas within 30 days.

– No connection will be provided without a smart prepaid or prepaid meter. Customers will also be given the option of paying electricity bills online.

– The Electricity Regulatory Commission will ascertain whether the period of power supply can be reduced under certain circumstances.

– The commission will also decide in what circumstances there may be a power cut.

– The Commission will also set rules to address complaints related to bills or meters.

– The availability of 24-hour power etc. has been included in the rights of consumers.
