New Delhi : Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah of the Indian team has been dropped out of the top ten ranking after the first Test. In the rankings, Bumrah had 753 points like Jason Holder of West Indies but now he has reached 11th position. Australian bowler Hazlewood also received a tremendous advantage in the ICC Test rankings. Josh Hazlewood has now reached 5th place in the ICC Test bowling rankings with 805 points. He has gained 4 places in the ranking.

The Indian team suffered a shameful defeat in the first match of the four-match Test series against Australia, but skipper Virat Kohli was close to first place in the latest ICC Test batsmen rankings on the basis of 74 runs during the first innings in Adelaide. The half-century innings of the second-ranked Indian captain gained him two ratings points, taking him to 888 rating points.

Former Australia captain Smith, who scored one run in both innings of this Test, lost 10 points, leaving him on 901 rating points. Marnus Labushen reached a career’s best 839 scoring points. Apart from Kohli, the impact of poor performance of Indian batsmen is also seen in this ranking.

Cheteshwar Pujara slipped from seventh to eighth place, while Ajinkya Rahane dropped from the top 10 to 11th position. Opener Mayank Agarwal has also slipped to 14th position while Hanuma Vihari has dropped from the top 50 to 53rd position. Indian spinner R Ashwin has overtaken fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and reached the top Indian cricketer at the ninth position in the bowlers’ rankings. Australia’s Pat Cummins remains the top bowler in the rankings, taking seven wickets in the match.
