PM Modi’s surprise visit to Rakabganj Gurdwara amid farmers protest, Offers prayers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reached Delhi’s Rakabganj Sahib Gurdwara amid agitation of farmers of Punjab on the Delhi border against farm bills. PM Modi paid tribute to the ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur here for his supreme sacrifice. According to reports, the Prime Minister’s visit was sudden. This program was not pre-decided. In such a situation, Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Rakabganj Gurudwara is considered important in the midst of the farmer movement.

At the time when the Prime Minister visited the gurdwara, no police arrangements were made on the streets and barricades were not put. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tweeted some pictures of his visit himself and has given a message in Gurmukhi language.

Farmers protesting against agricultural laws on Delhi borders are also organizing tribute day on 20 December, today, farmers across the country will celebrate it as ‘tribute day’ in memory of those who lost their lives in the ongoing agitation against the new agricultural laws. Prayer meetings will be held during this time.
