Jammu-Kashmir : Grenade attack on security forces in Anantnag, one soldier injured

Srinagar : The grenade attack took place before the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir. A grenade has been thrown at security forces in Bijbehara of Anantnag, in which a soldier has been injured. A rally of BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain is to be held about one kilometer from the place of attack. At the moment, the area has been closed.

Bijbehara is the home town of Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and PDP Chief. Here the BJP has planned a campaign rally for the DDC elections. Under this, a rally of BJP leader and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain is going to be held today. Before this rally, grenades have been thrown at the security forces.

Even after this attack, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that he will take part in the rally.

A terrorist was caught in an encounter today morning
An encounter between militants and security forces took place in Gund Baba Khalil area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district early Thursday. Kashmir zone police informed that a Hizbul militant has been arrested in the encounter. The name of the terrorist caught is Zaheer Abbas Lone, he has been admitted to the hospital.

DDC elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir in eight phases. Seven phases’ voting has been completed and the last phase of voting will be held on December 19. After this, counting of votes will take place on 22 December. This time BJP, Congress and People’s Alliance are the main focus. The People’s Alliance includes several parties including the National Conference, PDP, People’s Conference and CPI (M).
