Famous adult website Pornhub removes millions of videos after allegations

Mumbai : The famous porn website Pornhub has removed millions of videos from its site. Videos of users who were not verified on the site have been removed. According to a report, on Monday, the number of videos on this Canadian adult site decreased from 130 lakhs to 40 lakhs.

Pornhub has been facing allegations that it has failed to remove the video of the minor and sex trafficking girls from the site. Earlier, a New York Times report claimed that a large number of objectionable, illegal videos existed on the site. After this, two major credit card companies, Visa and MasterCard, announced that they will not process the payment of Pornhub.

Now users will not be able to upload content without verification on Pornhub. The company said in a statement that the condition of verification has been implemented for all the content of the site, but other platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube have not implemented such a policy so far.

According to a report, the decision of Pornhub could threaten the livelihood of millions of sex workers and models who are already in a difficult situation due to the epidemic. Till now, any user could upload content on this website.

Pornhub has also said that they are not being targeted because of the policies of the website, but because it is an adult content platform. According to the report, Facebook itself said that during the last three years, 80 million content related to the sexual exploitation of children was found on its platform, whereas, the Internet Watch Foundation said that during the same period, only 118 such content were found on Pornhub.
