COVID19 – Supreme Court pulls up Gujarat Govt over rising cases, situation worst

New Delhi : Supreme Court has pulled up the Gujarat government for the worsening state of the coronavirus. The Supreme Court has said that after Delhi and Maharashtra, the situation in Gujarat is worst for Corona, the court has reprimanded the Gujarat government for the gathering at weddings. The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for Friday.

Hearing the case of Corona, the Supreme Court has asked the government of Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam to file a status report within 4 weeks. The Supreme Court has said that the states in their status report should explain what steps they have taken and are going to take to prevent corona, the court has also asked the states to tell what help they need from the Center. A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan has drawn Delhi and Gujarat for the worsening situation of Corona.

Among these four states, Maharashtra has the most active cases of coronavirus where 82521 active corona cases have been registered till Monday morning, followed by Delhi with 40212 cases, then Gujarat with 13600 cases and Assam with 3142 cases. In recent times, new cases of corona have started increasing in many states of the country and the situation is looking more serious than before. So far 9139865 cases of Coronavirus have been registered in the country, in which 8562641 people have been cured and 133738 people have lost their lives. As of Monday morning, 443486 active cases of Coronavirus have been registered across the country.
