Surat : Female lab technician of Surat Civil Hospital completes suicide by hanging herself

Surat: A woman lab technician of the pathology department of the city’s civil hospital has committed suicide by hanging herself at her home. Khatodara police have also found a suicide note written by this woman before committing suicide.

Ramikshaben Niteshbhai Patel (age 45), a native of Mehsana, who was living in the staff quarters in the Civil Campus, was working as a lab technician in the pathology department. She had been on contract at the hospital for the past five years. While her husband Nileshbhai runs a hardware business. She was rushed to Civil Hospital immediately for treatment. But before the treatment could begin, she died.

Discussions have been going on that Ramikshaben has committed suicide after a dispute with someone in the staff. The news also reached her husband Nitesh Patel. Lab assistants and technicians hired for up to five years on contract were not given permanent job status and a protest was done in Gandhinagar on Monday for the same reason. In which more than 50 lab assistants and technicians from Surat including Ramikshaben joined. It is rumored that a senior medical official has reprimanded Ramikshaben on this issue as well. The truth of which can only come to light after a police investigation.

In a suicide note written by Ramikshaben was found during the police investigation, in which she wrote, “I am choosing death myself, I have no interest in living anymore. There is no pressure on me, no one is behind my death. I’m sorry if I made a mistake.”
