69 areas in Ahmedabad removed from micro containment: 4 new areas added in containment zone

Ahmedabad : Today 1137 cases of corona have been reported in Gujarat. 165 cases were registered against him in Ahmedabad city. Even today more than one thousand cases were reported in Gujarat. While in Ahmedabad city the number of areas added against the areas removed from micro containment has decreased. Today 4 new areas have been placed in micro containment. In front of it 9 areas have been removed from the micro containment area. Thus, the number of newly added areas is sparse compared to the number of micro-contained areas removed.

The number of micro containment area in Ahmedabad city has reached close to 100. Today’s micro-containment areas include the South Zone and the North West. Indrupuri, Maninagar as well as the only Gota in the North West Zone. Among them, 100 residents of 24 houses on certain floors of V and U block of Veer Savarkar Heights/2 have been placed in micro containment.

A meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Kumar Gupta was held today to review a series of steps being taken to curb the spread of corona in Ahmedabad city. In which 108 micro containment areas were in Ahmedabad city today. Out of which, after extensive discussion on a daily basis, it was decided to remove 9 areas from the micro containment area. In front of it 4 new areas were included in the micro containment area. Thus after removing 9 out of 108 areas, the figure has reached 99. The figure is 103 with the addition of 4 new areas. The newly declared areas include the Bombay area of the South Zone and the North West Zone. These include Indrapuri, Maninagar and two areas of Gota.

Intensive and close house to house surveillance and screening will be conducted by the Health Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on 22nd October tomorrow in the newly declared micro containment areas. Samples of suspects with corona symptoms noticed during the survey will also be taken, said Ahmedabad Municipal corporation’s health department.
