Paswan Knew What Poverty is, Poor-Dalit Have Lost A Strong Voice

Ram Vilas Paswan had a big role in implementing the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ (ONORC) scheme.
Actually, the credit of implementing the ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme in the whole country goes to Ram Vilas Paswan. Ram Vilas Paswan said that ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ will change the picture of the country, and the poor will get food grains in the form of government help to fill their stomach easily.
Ram Vilas Paswan used to say that if a laborer from Bihar works in Delhi or Mumbai, he would get ration from ration shops running in Delhi-Mumbai under ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’. That is, the ration card holder of any state will be able to take a ration by showing the card in any other state.
Not only this, in the midst of the Corona crisis, he worked hard to implement this scheme in the whole country and made this scheme available to the poor of the whole country. Union Minister of Consumer, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan was now working to implement ‘One Nation, One Standard’ on the lines of ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’. Paswan had said that from 31 March 2021, a standard will be implemented across the country.
The ‘One Nation, One Ration Card’ scheme started on 1 January 2020 under the supervision of Ram Vilas Paswan, at that time the scheme was implemented in 12 states of the country. Earlier in August 2019, the scheme started with the inter-state portability of ration cards in 4 states. Paswan’s goal was that by March 31, 2021, all the states of the country should be linked with the “One Nation One Ration Card” Scheme.
The central government is providing food grains to 81 crore people at low prices under this scheme. National portability facilities have been started in 28 states and union territories of the country. Through the Public Distribution System (PDS), the ration shop provides rice at the rate of Rs 3 per kg and wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg and coarse grains at the rate of Re 1 per kg.
