Maharashtra : Mephedrone Drug Worth Rs 20 Crore Seized In Pune, 5 Arrested

Pimpri : The investigation in drug related cases have been intensified in the state since the drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput death case has come.

In a recent action taken by the anti-drug squad on Wednesday, Mephedrone (MD) drug worth Rs 20 crore has been seized from Pune’s Chakan area within the limits of Pimpri (Chinchwad) Police Commissionerate. The action was taken on Wednesday afternoon and five people have been arrested by the police.

Those who have been arrested so far are Chetan Fakkad Dandwate (28, resident of Malthan-Ambevasti, Tal. Shirur) Anandgir Madhugir Gosavi (25, resident of Jalgaon, presently resident of Akole, Shirur), Akshay Shivaji Kale (25, resident of Pacharne Mala, Tal. Shirur), Sanjeev Kumar Bansi Raut (44, resident of Jharkhand, now resident of Uttar Pradesh), Tousif Hasan Mohammad Taslim (31, resident of Muzaffarnagar, now resident of Noida).

Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Shakir Jinedi has lodged a complaint in this regard at Chakan Police Station on Wednesday (Oct. 07, 2020). According to police, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Anti-Narcotics Squad Shakir Jinnedy was informed that the cell would come to Pimpalgaon to sell drugs. He gave the information to the senior officers. Police arrested five people on Wednesday afternoon and seized Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 20 crore from them.

Apart from the drugs, the police have seized a car worth Rs 5 lakh, cash worth Rs 23,100 and a total of Rs 20 crore 5 lakh 23,100. This action was taken by Senior Inspector Shriram Pol, Assistant Inspector Mahale, Assistant Faujdar Shakir Jinedi and his team under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Upper Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale, Deputy Commissioner Sudhir Hiremath.
