New Delhi : There is anger across the country over the incident of gang-rape of a Dalit girl in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh. The opposition is attacking the Uttar Pradesh government on this matter. Amid this,  former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi have once again left Delhi to meet the family members of the victim along with his supporters. Many Congress MLAs and MPs will also accompany him to Hathras. The Congress party will organize a nationwide agitation against the incident of Hathras gang rape on October 5.

On Rahul’s visit to the victim’s village, Congress leader KC Venugopal said, “Our purpose is just to meet the family and listen to their complaints. Congress MP led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will go to Hathras in Uttar Pradesh this afternoon and meet the family of a 19-year-old girl who was raped and brutally murdered.’

Before leaving for Hathras, Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter on Saturday, ‘I do not accept the behavior the police are doing with this lovely girl and her family. No Indian should accept this. Nothing in the world can stop me from meeting this victim family of Hathras and sharing their pain.’

At the same time, the Congress party will organize a nationwide agitation against the incident of Hathras gang rape on October 5. This announcement of the party has come at a time when Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and their supporters have announced to go to the victim’s village. Significantly, the family has claimed that after the death of the victim, the police did not allow the family to bring the body home and forcefully cremated her.

However, the Yogi government, which came into action in the Hathras incident, on Friday evening suspended the Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent, Inspector and two other police personnel with immediate effect. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave this order after the SIT report came out. So far, Shamli captain Vineet Jaiswal has been appointed the new SP of Hathras.
