Hathras : Rahul Gandhi Arrested, UP Police Lathicharged, Pushed Him To Ground
New Delhi : Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, whose march to Hathras was stopped, alleged that the police lathicharged and pushed him to the ground. Rahul & Priyanka had begun a march to Hathras after their cars were stopped by authorities. Later, both Rahul and Priyanka tweeted slamming the Uttar Pradesh government for trying to stop them.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi left from Delhi on Thursday to meet the family of Hathras victim. However, they were stopped on the Yamuna Expressway. After this, both the leaders had started marching on foot. Now, Rahul Gandhi has been taken into custody. On the other hand, Rahul has severely accused the Uttar Pradesh police of Lathicharge and pushing him to ground.
On the Yamuna Expressway, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, ‘The police just pushed me, lathi-charged me and threw me on the ground. I want to ask if only Modi ji can walk in this country? Can not a normal person walk? Our vehicle was stopped, so we started walking.’
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday alleged that police used lathis to stop her and former party president Rahul Gandhi from going to Hathras, but the ‘egotistical government’ lathis cannot stop them.
