New Delhi : World’s number one tennis player Novak Djokovic won the ‘ATP Masters 1000 Trophy’ title for a record 36th time. With this victory, Djokovic has now become the player to win the most ATP Masters title. With this, he has defeated Spain’s Rafael Nadal. Nadal won 35 and Roger Federer won 28 ATP Masters titles.

Serbian player Djokovic defeated Diego Schwartzman of Argentina in the final match played on Monday. He won the Italian Open title for the fifth time. Djokovic defeated eighth seed Schwartzman, playing his first final of the ATP Masters 1000, 7-5, 6-3 in straight sets. Not only this, Djokovic has also become the oldest player to win the Rome Open title. He won this trophy at the age of 33. Talking about Djokovic’s performance this year, he has won a total of 31 matches out of 32. Also won a total of four trophies in 2020.

Djokovic completed 287 weeks as the world’s number one tennis player. He left Pete Sampras (286 weeks) behind in this case. The record is in the name of Federer (310 weeks). Ivan Lendl (270 weeks) is fourth and Jimmy Connors (268 weeks) is at number five.
