‘Apne Paraye’ Fame Renowned Actress Ashalata Wabgaonkar Passed Away Due To Coronavirus

Mumbai : The year 2020 is giving the film industry a never-ending pain. This year many talented actors have said goodbye to this world. Meanwhile, information is coming out that the famous actress of Marathi cinema, Ashalata Wabgaonkar, is no longer in this world. The 79-year-old actress was actually found corona infected after which she was undergoing treatment in Satara hospital. But on the morning of 22 September, she breathed her last. She was infected with Corona.

According to media reports, 27 people have been found corona infected on the set of ‘Aai Majhi Kalubai’. Among them, one was Ashalata Wabgaonkar. It is reported that some time ago a dance group from Mumbai came on the set of the serial and through them, corona was spread to others. Suddenly the health of Ashalata Wabgaonkar worsened on Monday after being corona infected. After which she had to be admitted to the hospital. Where she was kept on a ventilator.

Resident of Goa, Ashalata made her career in Marathi and Konkani films. She has also worked in Hindi cinema. She worked in Basu Chatterjee’s film Apne Paraye. She was nominated for a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in the same film.

Films like ‘Devmanoos’ and ‘Aai Majhi Kalubai’ are currently being shot in Satara district. Ashalata is playing the lead role in Alka Kubal’s serial ‘Aai Majhi Kalubai’ which is currently airing on a Marathi channel. The shooting of this series has been going on for the last fortnight in Phaltan, Lonand and Wai areas of the district.

Ashalata has acted in over 100 films in Marathi and Hindi so far. She played the lead role in ‘Guntata Hriday He, Varyavarchi Varat, Chinna and Mahananda’. career in drama through ‘Sangeet Natak Matsyagandha’. In the Marathi film industry, ‘Umbarthha, Sutradhar, Navari Mile Navryala, Vahinichi Maya’ were her hit films.

She has also written a book based on music called ‘Gard Sabhovati’. While taking music lessons from Pandit Jitendra Abhishek, Ashalata had a habit of capturing the meaning of each word before learning. The veteran actress, who played the lead role of Revathi in the state drama competition Sansayakallol.
