Play Store Removes Paytm App For Violating Google Guidelines

New Delhi : If you also use the Paytm app, then this news is important for you. Because the popular mobile payment app Paytm has been removed from Google Play Store. After which users are not able to download this app. But when searching Paytm on play store, other apps of the company Paytm for business, Paytm money, Paytm Mall still exist on Play Store. Apart from this, when checked on Apple App Store, then this app is available for download there.

The reason for the removal of this app from the Google Play Store is violation of Google guidelines. Google has apparently removed the Paytm app because it allegedly violates the company’s new rules around online gambling.
Paytm removed from Google Play Store after a few hours of Google’s Suzanne Frey,Vice President, Product, Android Security and Privacy, detailed the guidelines in a blog post. She wrote, “We have these policies to protect users from potential harm. When an app violates these policies, we notify the developer of the violation and remove the app from Google Play until the developer brings the app into compliance. And in the case where there are repeated policy violations, we may take more serious action which may include terminating Google Play Developer accounts. Our policies are applied and enforced on all developers consistently,”

Paytm Payment and UPI App is developed by One97 Communication Ltd. It is not visible when searching this app on Google Play Store. However, the app already installed in Android smartphones is working.

There is currently no statement from the company about the removal of this app from the Google Play Store. Paytm is owned by Vijay Shekhar Sharma’s company One97 Communication Ltd. It also has funding from Alibaba Group of China.

More than 200 Chinese apps have been recently banned in India on the orders of the Indian government. TikTok and PUBG Mobile are big names in these apps, which had crores of users in India. These apps have been said to be stealing private data of Indian users. After which these apps have been removed from the Google Play Store and Apple Store in India.
