Terrorist attack in Vienna : 2 killed, PM Modi condemns the incident, said – ‘India stands with Austria’
New Delhi : A cafe and restaurant in the city of Vienna, the capital of the European country Austria, has been attacked. Officials said two people died and 15 people were injured in it. An attacker is also among those who died. The attack on Austria occurred before the Coronavirus lockdown.

Two people were killed and several people injured in this attack
Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said a few hours after the terrorist incident, “We are victims of a hideous terrorist attack in the capital Vienna which is still continuing.” “One attacker has been killed, but some attackers are still active,” he said. The attackers are equipped with modern weapons. This shows how much preparation they have come up with.
PM Modi condemned the incident
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the incident in Vienna. PM Modi tweeted, “Deeply shocked and saddened by the brutal terrorist attacks in Vienna. India stands with Austria in this sad time. My condolences are with the victims and their families.”
Police said, at eight o’clock local time, the first incident of firing on a road in the city center came to light. He said that there has been firing in six areas of the capital. An unconfirmed video can be seen of how the attacker is passing through the streets with weapons in his hands and firing at people in public.
The exact cause of the attack has not yet been ascertained. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that there was every possibility that it was an anti-Semitic attack. He said that the attack happened near a Jewish synagogue, so this possibility cannot be ruled out. However, it was closed at the time of the attack.
Interior Minister Karl Nehmer said the army has been ordered to protect important areas of the city. Apart from this, modern armed policemen are looking for the attackers. He has asked the people of Vienna to stay in their homes. He has also asked parents not to send their children to school on Tuesday.
Chancellor Kurz has praised the police for killing an attacker and vowed that we will never fear terrorism and will counter these attacks in every way. Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig says 15 people have been hospitalized, of which seven are in critical condition.
The head of the Jewish community in Vienna, Oskar Dutes, said it was unclear whether the main synagogue was targeted or not. An eyewitness said that he saw people sitting outside the bar on the street under his window shot by the attacker. The attacker fired about 100 rounds there.
