New Delhi : An encounter between the Special Task Force (STF) and the miscreants took place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Two shooters, Vakil Pandey alias Raju Pandey and Amjad alias Pintu, were killed in an encounter at Kachhar in Arail area.

According to the police, a reward of 50 thousand rupees was declared on Vakil Pandey. Both of them were shooters of Munna Bajrangi and Mukhtar Ansari gang, working for Dilip Mishra after the death of Munna Bajrangi. They had taken the contract to kill the jail officer of Hotwar Jail, Ranchi. There was a conspiracy to kill an influential person in Prayagraj too.

STF says that both Vakil Pandey and his partner Amjad are residents of Bhadohi. After the encounter, the police got a 30 and 9 mm pistol and a motorcycle with live cartridges from the spot. Last year, Bhadohi MLA Vijay Mishra had said that he had threats from Vakil Pandey and his life was in danger.

The duo, along with other colleagues, brutally murdered the then deputy jailer Anil Kumar Tyagi of Varanasi in broad daylight in 2013 at the behest of Munna Bajrangi and Mukhtar Ansari. Last year itself, the sharp shooter Neeraj Singh of Khan Mubarak Gang, arrested from the college of mafia Dilip Mishra, had revealed the conspiracy to murder some SP leaders, including both of them.

Aman Singh, a sharp shooter from Munna Bajrangi involved in the murder of Deputy Mayor of Dhanbad Neeraj Singh, is currently lodged in Hotwar Jail in Ranchi. At his behest, Vakil Pandey and Amjad along with their colleagues were plotting to kill the jail officer of Hotwar jail. However, last month, one of his companions was caught in Ayodhya, due to which their plan was stuck.

The police claim that the two crooks were planning to kill an elite or political person in Prayagraj. There are about 20 cases against Vakil Pandey and about 24 cases against Amjad. At present, the bodies of Vakil Pandey and Amjad have been sent for post-mortem. Simultaneously, the search for his companions has been intensified.
