First incident of violence reported in Kolkata after the announcement of election dates
Kolkata: The first incident of violence has been reported in Kolkata after the announcement of assembly election dates in five states. Some people arrived in the Kadapara area at around 11 pm and attacked ‘Parivartan chariots’. BJP alleges that TMC activists attacked and vandalized their vehicles and LED TVs installed in them.

Bengal BJP in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya tweeted a video of the incident saying that ‘Today the Election Commission announced the Bengal election date and Trinamool Congress goons broke into the BJP’s Kadapara (Kolkata) Godown at 11 am and vandalized vehicles and LEDs.’

In West Bengal under the first phase on March 27 on 30 assembly seats in five districts of the state, on April 1 on 30 assembly seats in four districts under the second phase, on 31 April in the third phase on 31 assembly seats, in the fourth phase. Polling will be held under 44 seats of five districts on April 10, on April 10 on 45 seats of five districts under fifth phase, on April 17, on April 22 in 43 seats in four districts under sixth phase, on 26 in 36 seats in five districts under seventh phase on April 29 and on 35 April in four districts under the eighth phase.
