Amritsar : Former deputy mayor Om Prakash Gabbar and SS Kohli, brother of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has joined the Aam Aadmi Party in Amritsar, Punjab. They joined Aam Aadmi Party in the presence of AAP MLAs Kulwant Singh Pandori, Jaikishan Singh Rody and Manjit Singh Bilaspur.

Om Prakash Gabbar became a councilor from Amritsar on the Akali Dal ticket for the first time. Later in 2017, he went to the Congress. This time he also contested the municipal elections on the Congress ticket. Om Prakash Gabbar has been the president of Bhagwan Valmiki Dhuna Sahib Management Trust, which manages the Ram Tirtha Temple in Amritsar. At the same time, SS Kohli has been a Commander in the Army in the past. Impressed by the policies of the Aam Aadmi Party, he has decided to join the party.

Former deputy mayor Gabbar also joined the AAP with District Labor Principal Sahib Singh of Congress Labor Wing and former bank officer JS Bindra. Apart from this, along with Gabbar, leaders like Tarsem Singh Ranike, Manjit Singh Wadali, Buta Singh Sangatpura, Nishan Singh Grinding, Mazar Singh, Mani, Prince of Blue City and Kanhaiya and Dharampal have also joined AAP.

The AAP leaders welcomed the leaders who joined the party and said that the people of Punjab are seeing AAP as a ray of hope.
