More than 200 stray dogs killed within 3 days in West Bengal

Kolkata : More than 200 stray dogs have been killed in the last three days in Bishnupur in Bankura district of West Bengal. Officials said on Friday that 60 dogs were killed on Tuesday while 97 dogs were found dead on Wednesday.

On Thursday, 45 dogs died. Divyendu Bandopadhyay, Municipal unit chief of Vishnupur, said that the information has been given to the district authorities.

Officials said samples of dead dogs have been taken and sent to Kolkata for examination. Veterinarians said that the reason behind the death of dogs could be viral infection, which is common in dogs at this time. The concerned team has started investigating the case.
