6.3 magnitude in Tajikistan, Strong tremors felt in parts of North India and Pakistan

New Delhi : Strong earthquake tremors were felt in North India as well as neighbouring countries Pakistan and Tajikistan at around 10.31 minutes on Friday night. According to the information, the epicenter of the earthquake was Tajikistan. It was measured 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale. Earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of Uttar Pradesh including Delhi, Noida, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana.

Severe tremors were felt in many parts of North India. No news of loss of life or property have been reported. The earthquake spread panic in many places including the national capital Delhi. People came out of homes in Vaishali and Vasundhara and other areas of Ghaziabad fearing earthquakes. Fear of earthquakes was also seen in other parts of the National Capital Region.

Apart from India and Tajikistan, sharp tremors were also felt in Pakistan. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in the northern regions of the country including the capital, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces on Friday night. Also in Pakistan, tremors were felt in many areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Islamabad, Lahore and other areas of Punjab.

There was no news of loss of life or property. However, due to the earthquake, people came out of their homes in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and other cities.

Tremors were felt in several states of North India including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Punjab, Delhi-NCR on Friday night. Tremors were also felt in many cities of UP and Uttarakhand. The epicenter of the earthquake was 80 kilometers below ground in Afghanistan.

According to the seismology department, its center in India was Amritsar and its intensity was measured at 6.1. Earthquake tremors were felt twice in India at 10:31 pm and 10:34 pm. The tremors were so severe that people came out of their homes in Delhi NCR.

Tremors were also felt in Chamba in Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh in Punjab, Amritsar, Patiala, Ambala, Rohtak, Haryana, Ghaziabad, Noida, Mathura, Agra and Uttarkashi, Barkot, Almora in Uttarakhand. Earthquake tremors were also felt in some areas of Gujarat. At present, there is no news of loss of any property from anywhere.
