Kasganj : One killed in encounter, Main accused absconding

Kasganj : After the deadly attack on the police team which went to take action against the liquor mafia in Kasganj, it is now reported that the police have killed one of the accused in the encounter. Moti Dhimar, the main accused of the incident, is still absconding.

According to the information, this encounter took place on the bank of Kali river near Nagla Dhimar in Sidhpura police station area. The person killed in the encounter has been identified as Alkar, brother of Moti Dhimar.

Earlier the news came that a police team was attacked when they went to shut down the illegal liquor business in village Nagla Dhimar of Sidhpura area of Kasganj. The liquor mafia took a sub-inspector and constable hostage. Sub-inspectors were later found in the field in an injured state while the constable’s corpse was recovered from elsewhere.

It is being told that the police had received the news of running a large scale illegal liquor business in Nagla Dhimar village. On receipt of the news, the police team had reached the village to raid on Tuesday, but the liquor mafia had already been warned of this raid. The accused surrounded the police team and took sub-inspectors Ashok and constable Devendra as hostages.

Later Ashok was found injured in the field while Devendra was found dead at another place. The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to impose NSA on the accused. In addition, financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh has also been announced for Devendra’s family and government job.
