Singer accuses Maharashtra Minister Dhananjay Munde of rape

Mumbai : Maharashtra cabinet minister Dhananjay Munde has been accused of rape by a singer. The woman lodged a complaint at Oshiwara police station in Mumbai. Dayanand Bangar, senior police inspector of the police station, confirmed.

Singer tweeted on not filing an FIR against Dhananjay Munde that till now neither the police has taken cognisance of the case nor taken any action.

The singer alleges that she went to her sister’s house in Indore in 1997. She was then 16–17 years old. Munde was married to his sister Karuna Sharma in 1998. In 2006, when her sister went to Indore for delivery, she was alone at home.

Meanwhile, Dhananjay Munde came to his house at night and made physical relations against the will. The woman alleges that Dhananjay Munde was constantly lured to launch her in Bollywood and sexually abused her.

Earlier Mahbub Sheikh, president of the youth unit of the state NCP, was accused of rape. The matter was still in the news that NCP leader Munde has also been accused of rape.

After the woman’s charge, Dhananjay Munde clarified that the allegation of rape is baseless. However, he has admitted to being in a relationship with the singer’s sister. Munde said that he had a relationship with his elder sister since 2003. My family, wife and friends also know this. But the singer lady has been blackmailing me since the year 2019 demanding money. His brother is also involved in this.

In November 2020, her elder sister Karuna Sharma tried to discredit aspects related to my personal life. In this case, the High Court has given a stay order and the matter related to this is under consideration in the court.
