Mumbai : Jodhpur court has issued a notice against film actor Bobby Deol and director Prakash Jha for allegedly showing false images of saints in the web-series Aashram 2, directed by Prakash Jha, recently released on the OTT platform. After the huge success of Ashram Part 1, its Part 2 was released in November itself. In the film, Bobby Deol plays the role of a deceptive saint.

For this web-series released on MX Player, it is alleged that through this, the image of Indian saints is being tarnished. In this series, Bobby Deol has allegedly played a symbolic role of saints who are serving prison sentences for many crimes.

Taking cognizance of these allegations, District and Sessions Judge Ravindra Joshi in Jodhpur ordered Bobby and Prakash Jha to appear in court on January 11 to present their case. Khush Khandelwal, a resident of Jodhpur has filed this complaint against Bobby Deol and Prakash Jha.

In his petition, Khandelwal has said that the saint whose story is told in the role of Bobby Deol is hurting the feelings of those who revere and worship the saints. The character of the saint played by Bobby is rapist, corrupt, drug dealer shown as an attempt to tarnish the image of true saints.

Khandelwal had earlier tried to register an FIR in the same case but it is being said that the FIR was not registered and after that Khandelwal filed an application in the court.
