Mumbai Indians again storms into finals, beats Delhi Capitals

Dubai: Mumbai Indians have beaten Delhi in the Qualifier-1 of IPL 2020 final. In the first play-off, Mumbai beat Delhi Capitals by 57 runs. Chasing Mumbai’s 201-run target, Delhi struggled from the start. Delhi’s first three batsmen were out on zero run. Trent Bolt took two wickets in the first over and Bumrah took one in the second over. After this, captain Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis and Akshar Patel tried to save Delhi, but they did not meet the challenge.

Marcus Stoinis scored 65 off 46 balls while Akshar Patel scored 42 off 33 balls. Jaspreet Bumrah took 4 wickets, Bolt took 2 wickets and Krunal Pandya and Kieran Pollard took 1 wicket each.

Earlier, the Mumbai batsman gave a big challenge to Delhi of 201 runs. In this match, Delhi captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. After this, Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma got out on the first ball. But Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav continued to bat aggressively. Krunal Pandya and Kieran Pollard got out easily. But Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya hit big shots in the last few overs and took Mumbai to 200 runs. Ishant Kishan scored an 55 off 30 balls while Hardik Pandya scored 37 off 14 balls at not out. Suryakumar Yadav scored 51 off 38 balls and Quinton de Kock scored 40 off 25 balls. From Delhi, Ashwin took the most 3 wickets, while Enrique Norkia and Marcus Stoinis took 1-1 wickets each.

This is Delhi’s third defeat against Mumbai in this IPL. Earlier, Mumbai had beaten Delhi in both the group stage matches.
