Advanced Landing Ground to be built near China border for Indian Army

New Delhi : In view of the ever-increasing conflict with China and the activities of the Chinese Army along the 240-km border with Himachal, advance landing grounds will be built in Lahaul-Spiti district. The Union Defense Ministry has asked the Himachal government to find land for this. After the land is identified, the Ministry of Defense will survey and prepare the landing ground at appropriate places. Accepting their recommendations, the Defense Minister has given instructions like increasing roads, mobile networks and military strength in these areas.

Kundu said that recently the Center has asked to find land for an advanced landing ground. After getting land, helipads can be prepared for the army, which will strengthen the security of the area.

The police report said that due to lack of employment opportunities, the youth are moving to other states of the country and only the elderly population is left in the border areas. Apart from this, the lack of mobile connectivity, poor condition of the road network, local flora was said to be of prominence.
