New Delhi : In the second super over of the 36th match of the 13th season of IPL, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) won. It overcame the Mumbai Indians (MI) challenge. Punjab scored 176/6 in 20 overs chasing a target of 177 runs in Dubai on Sunday night. Mumbai also scored 176/6 runs while batting first.

After the match was a tie, the first super over was also a tie with 5-5 runs. This was followed by a second super over, in which Punjab won a stunning victory. It was unique in cricket history when two super overs were played in a single match. Above all, the result of the 35th match of the current IPL on Sunday also resulted in a super over. In the day’s match, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in a super over.

First super over
In the first super over, Punjab scored 05/2 off Jaspreet Bumrah’s balls. The pair of KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran came in the super over. Puran got out on the second ball and KL Rahul on the last ball.

Mumbai got a target of 6 runs. Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma descended from Mumbai. Mohammed Shami handled the bowling. Mumbai needed two runs off the last ball, but de Kock was run out trying to take a second run and the match was again tied (05/1).

Second super over
Mumbai scored 11/1 in the second super over. Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya came to bat. Chris Jordan handled bowling for Punjab. On the fourth ball of this super over, Hardik Pandya was out trying to take a second run.

Punjab got a target of 12 runs. Now Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal came to bat from Punjab. Gayle started with a six on Trent Bolt’s bowling. One run scored on the second ball. Mayank Agarwal hit the fours on third and fourth balls and won the match. The score was 15/0.
