Surat : Coronavirus cases are on the rise in the country. In such a situation, the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic will be seen on the festivals. For the first time due to the epidemic, Garba will not be organized in Gujarat. Meanwhile, a group of fashion designing students in Surat played garba in a dress made of PPE kits. They themselves have designed these costumes.

An attempt has been made to make these costumes attractive by using hand painting and mirror work. Apart from this, a disposable cover of masks and sticks was also made. Not only this, students have also designed a drape scarf. The dress was on display at the VR Mall in Surat.

The Ministry of Culture on Thursday issued a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) related to Covid-19 for organizing cultural events.

Adequate safety measures have been put in place in the SOP against Covid-19. Artists and others accompanying them must obtain a valid Covid-19 Negative Report, visitors without masks and others are prohibited and only 50 percent of seats will be filled.

The ministry said in a statement that theater management and many other institutions would have to comply with the SOP. Entertainment or creative agencies, auditoriums or any open space for cultural events are also required to be followed by those hired.

It states that digital transactions should be given priority for tickets. No cultural activity will be allowed in the restricted areas.

“All external artists and crew members, including lighting, sound, makeup, costume, etc., are required to submit a valid Covid-19 Negative Report to the relevant authorities of the host institution,” the statement said. This investigation should be done within seven days of the program.

The guidelines state that it will be mandatory for the audience to wear a mask and keep a physical distance of at least six feet at all times.
